Midnight Madness a night of fun

November 6, 2009

More than 1,100 York College students attended the year’s first Midnight Madness on Oct. 30. Throughout the event, which went from 10 p.m. until midnight, students were entertained with music, dancing, and contests, including a 3-point contest, NBA Skills contest (passing, dribbling and shooting), a cotton ball blow race, and a relay that involved passing a softball to teammates using only the neck (no hands!). Students also had the opportunity to win prizes, including a 42” plasma television.

At 11:45 p.m., the men’s and women’s basketball teams were introduced to the capacity crowd in Wolf Gymnasium. Team members entertained the audience with drills and a slam-dunk contest, as well as a 3-point contest featuring athletic trainer Nate Cooke vs. men’s basketball player Nick Brady and sports information director Scott Guise vs. women’s basketball player April Sparkman.
