The Jeff Stabley Jazz Quartet will present a concert of classic rock songs played in a modern jazz style – including lots of improvisation and band interaction – at 3 p.m., Feb. 14, in York College’s DeMeester Recital Hall, Wolf Hall. The event, which is open to the public free of charge, will feature guest trombonist Don Collins.
The Jazz Quartet includes drummer Stabley, an adjunct faculty member at York College who teaches jazz studies, percussion and improvisation; pianist Kirk Reese, director of jazz studies at Messiah College; bassist Steve Meashey, one of the most sought-after bassists in the Central Pennsylvania area; and percussionist Mack White, who plays with the band Extremity.
